Attorney Harris, who was born in Berkeley and raised in Sacramento, California. As an undergraduate, Attorney Harris attended the University of California, Merced, where he majored in Political Science and was an All-Conference member of the men’s basketball team.
After graduating from UC Merced, Martin attended and graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law. During law school, Martin was a federal judicial extern for the Honorable Haywood S. Gilliam, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and counts former California Supreme Court Justice Martin Jenkins and Oakland attorney John Burris, as his primary professional mentors.
Upon graduating from law school, Martin worked with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund in Washington, D.C. prior to his return to California focusing his law practice on social justice and civil rights. Attorney Harris is at the forefront of advocating for tenants’ rights throughout northern California and the Central Valley of California.
Attorney Harris lives in Oakland with his fiancé Attorney Tiffaney Boyd and together they enjoy tennis, pickleball and global travel.
